Android Ban: Microsoft bans Android, tells employees to use only iPhone

This was announced in an e-mail sent by Microsoft China to employees. Due to the ban on Google Play Store in China, users must depend on Huawei and Xiaomi’s app stores.

Microsoft has banned Android in China. Now the company’s employees will have to switch to iPhone soon. According to a Bloomberg report, Microsoft employees in China have been informed to switch from Android smartphones to iPhones by September 2024.

This was reportedly announced in an e-mail sent by Microsoft China to employees. The same order has also been issued in Microsoft’s Hong Kong office.

According to the report, employees have been told that anyone who is using Android smartphones of Chinese brands like Huawei or Xiaomi will be given an iPhone 15 by the company. The company is also reportedly going to set up a center in China from where its employees can get iPhones.

Why did Microsoft ban Android?

One of the major reasons for Microsoft’s ban on Android is that Google Play Store is banned in China. In such a situation, people face difficulty in downloading Android apps. Due to the ban on Google Play Store in China, users have to depend on Huawei and Xiaomi’s app stores. Microsoft is soon going to launch a new login system that will tell which employee is logging in from iPhone and who from Android.
